IRRIGATION BASICS FOR CROPPING & LIVESTOCK BUSINESSES - Short Course

The TAS Farm Innovation Hub and Pinion Advisory invite staff from businesses in the livestock
and cropping industries to attend an irrigation short course.

This free, one-day short course is the perfect opportunity for farm staff new to irrigation to gain a
solid introduction to irrigation fundamentals, specifically tailored for broad acre production.
The course has been designed with both theory and hands-on learning in mind, and includes practical
sessions to ensure participants can directly apply what they learn.
Participants will finish the short course with an understanding of:

the soil/plant/water relationship
different types of irrigation systems
maintenance and troubleshooting

The Australian Government is contributing $12.4 million over 4 years through the Future Drought Fund under various grants. Hub partners and the University of Tasmania will provide co-contributions of an amount at least equal to the Australian Government funding over the same period.
